For 251 liquid Nifty 500 stocks, it shows how the classified trading volume of the last five NSE sessions (2 Nov 2026 to 6 Nov 2026) split between buy-initiated and sell-initiated trades, by stock and by sector, plus the balance of large trades.

How is buying and selling measured?

Each trade from the live NSE feed is classified as buyer-initiated or seller-initiated by comparing its price with the best bid and offer at the time, with a tick-rule fallback. Buy-side share is buyer-initiated volume divided by all classified volume.

Why do these volumes differ from exchange volume?

The report uses a streamed market feed, which samples trades rather than recording every exchange print. The split between buying and selling is the useful part; the absolute share counts are lower than NSE's totals.

How often is the report updated?

After every NSE session, covering the five most recent sessions with order flow data.

Does a high buy-side share predict price direction?

No. It describes which side initiated more of the traded volume over the period. It does not show resting orders, intent or what happens next.
